We kicked off Build with updates across GitHub Copilot, code review, agent workflows, sandboxes, memory, and developer tools. Take a look through the updates below, and join the discussions to share your feedback with the community!

🚀 New ways to build with Copilot

• Expanded technical preview availability for the GitHub Copilot app: The GitHub Copilot app technical preview is now available to all existing Copilot Pro, Pro+, Business, and Enterprise customers. Download the Copilot app for Windows, macOS, or Linux to get started.
• Cloud and local sandboxes for GitHub Copilot now in public preview: GitHub Copilot can now run inside secure, isolated sandboxes, both locally on your machine and in the cloud. Sandboxed Copilot experiences provide isolated environments for Copilot's tool execution locally as well as fully isolated cloud sandboxes hosted by GitHub.
• MAI-Code-1-Flash is now available for GitHub Copilot: MAI‑Code‑1‑Flash, Microsoft's latest small‑tier coding model, is now rolling out in GitHub Copilot starting with VS Code. MAI‑Code‑1‑Flash delivers best‑in‑class quality for its size, outperforming other small models in early testing, making it well‑suited for lightweight coding workflows.
• Copilot SDK is now generally available: The GitHub Copilot SDK is now generally available. You can embed GitHub Copilot's agentic engine into your own applications, services, and developer tools with a stable API and production-ready support. Read more in our changelog.

🤖 Agents and automation

• Extend GitHub with agent apps: Agent apps are AI agents from GitHub partners, installable from the GitHub Marketplace, and integrated directly into GitHub. You install an agent app just like any other GitHub App from the Marketplace.
• Schedule and automate tasks with Copilot cloud agent: With the new automations feature, Copilot cloud agent can now run automatically, on a schedule or in response to repository events. Automations let you hand off repetitive tasks to the agent without any manual input.
• Copilot Memory supports user preferences for Business, Enterprise: Following the rollout to Copilot Pro and Pro+ users, Copilot Memory now supports user-level preferences in public preview for Copilot Business and Copilot Enterprise, with new admin controls for governance. Copilot Memory can now capture user-level preferences such as communication style, tool stack, or git conventions, applying them across repositories and Copilot experiences.

🧠 Memory and session insights

• Gain insights across your agent sessions with /chronicle: Every Copilot session you run (e.g., fixing a bug, reviewing code, spinning up a feature) builds a history only you can query. /chronicle turns that history into standup summaries, personalized tips, and custom instructions that make Copilot work better for you over time.
• Gemini models in Copilot CLI, cloud agent, and the Copilot app: Two Gemini models are now available across additional GitHub Copilot surfaces. Gemini 3.1 Pro (Preview) and Gemini 3.5 Flash can now be used in Copilot CLI, Copilot cloud agent, the GitHub Copilot app (technical preview), and Copilot SDK. Read more in our changelog.

🔍 Code review

• Shape Copilot code review around your team: Copilot code review adapts to your team's tools and standards and scales its depth to the complexity of each change. Today we're shipping two public previews on a unified agent platform: Agent skills and MCP support that bring your organization's context into every review, and a new medium analysis tier that routes complex pull requests to a higher-reasoning model.
• GitHub Copilot code review for Azure Repos is now in technical preview: GitHub Copilot code review for Azure Repos is now available in technical preview, bringing on demand pull request reviews directly into your Azure DevOps workflow. Once enabled at both the organization and repository level, users can request a Copilot code review directly from a pull request in Azure Repos. Read more in our changelog.

🛠 CLI and IDE experiences

• Copilot CLI: Improved UI, rubber duck, prompt scheduling, and voice input: GitHub Copilot CLI is getting a major refresh at Microsoft Build 2026. Rubber duck, prompt scheduling, and voice input are generally available today, and a new experimental terminal interface—including tabs for working with issues, pull requests, and gists—is available to try via /experimental. • Introducing Copilot CLI and agentic capabilities enhancements in JetBrains IDEs: With Copilot CLI now available in GitHub Copilot for JetBrains IDEs, this update centers on new capabilities for Copilot CLI sessions, while also delivering a broader set of agentic improvements. For Copilot CLI sessions, that includes agent picker support, new slash commands, and the agent debug panel in public preview, along with the beginning of a phased transition to Copilot CLI agent as the default experience. • GitHub Copilot in Eclipse: BYOK, skills, and chat updates: This release of GitHub Copilot in Eclipse packs a lot: a refreshed chat experience, deeper visibility into your session context, BYOK for Business and Enterprise, better ABAP support, and brand new support for skills and prompt files.
