Follow these steps on Windows.

Find the latest release at the top of the page.

Look under the Assets section.

Download the Windows file for your device. It will often end with
.exe,.msi, or.zip. -
If you downloaded a
.zipfile, right click it and choose Extract All. -
Open the extracted folder if needed.

Double click the app file to start it.

If Windows asks for permission, choose Yes.
After the app opens, use it in the command window.
- Start the app from the file you downloaded.
- Read the first prompt or menu on screen.
- Type your request and press Enter.
- Follow any on screen steps.
- Keep the window open while you use it.
If you use a ZIP file, make sure you run the main app file from the extracted folder, not from inside the compressed file.
Try a basic request first, such as:
- Help me organize this folder
- Explain this error message
- Rewrite this note in plain English
- Show me what this file does
- Help me clean up this project
Start with one short request. This makes it easier to see how the app works.
A typical Windows setup should work well if you have:
- Windows 10 or Windows 11
- A recent web browser to open the release page
- Enough free space to download the file
- Permission to run downloaded apps
- Internet access if the app needs Claude sign in or remote features
The release page may include different file types:
- .exe - A Windows app file you can open directly
- .msi - A Windows installer file
- .zip - A compressed file you must extract first
If more than one Windows file appears, pick the one that matches your normal setup. For most users, .exe or .msi is the easiest choice.
If nothing happens when you start it:
- Check that the file finished downloading
- Try right clicking the file and choosing Run as administrator
- If you used a ZIP file, extract it first
- Make sure you opened the correct file
- Download the file again if it looks broken
If Windows shows a security prompt, review the file name and confirm that you want to open it.
- Keep the app in a folder you can find again
- Use a short folder path if you move files around
- Close other large apps if your PC feels slow
- Save your work before you start a long task
- Use plain requests for clear results
